Update: Winning (Re)Design for St. Louis Arch Grounds

A winner has been announced for the proposed redesign of the St. Louis Arch grounds contest. The team led by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates (landscape architect) was selected.I liked this selection because of the planned (music) venue adjacent to Eads Bridge and tying it to the great entertainment district of Laclede’s Landing.

It’s supposed to be completed by October of 2015 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Arch’s completion. Once done, this will give me a good reason to visit my home town.[via ArchDaily]
